Caravan has a wide selecton of activities to enhance festivals!

Performances – Flexible staging, large puppets, loads of interaction and programs that contain a series of short skits make for a happy festival crowd! We can tailor stories to your event! We have programming for events of every size!

We can also bring:

– The Instant Puppet Theater! Our self contained puppet theater/ tent creates a small (magical) enclosed space in the midst of any festival! Great for young children and families.

Wandering Puppets – Our larger puppets can wander about… enhancing the jolly vibes of any festival!

As a special and unique treat, we can also, perform short skits for families and small groups while wandering festival grounds with our suitcase puppet theater.

The Puppet Garden Of Delight! Caravan’s puppet carnival where kids make puppets, then put them on such rides as the puppet whirly-gig, the puppet merry-go-round, the puppet trebuchet and the puppet zip-wire!

– Parades! We can make puppets large and small with your attendees, or bring a large collection for your event!

All of these activities can be mixed and matched to make your event unique and puppet-tastic!

Be it a giant puppet parade for Greenfield’s Green River Festival, The Puppet Garden Of Delight at Easthampton’s (MA) “Cultural Chaos (8 years running), Glastonbury’s (CT) Apple Festival, The Iida (Japan) World Puppet Festival, or Northampton’s (MA) First Night, the puppets (and puppeteer’s) are ready to go!

Jonathan and Karen could not have been any better. Children and parents alike were thrilled with the performance. The program was engaging, educational, and truly interactive. The puppets were a treat to look at. He explained how many of the puppets were made with found objects. The following Storytime two sisters each brought a puppet they had made. Their grandmother said that one of the girls had seen an open pod on the ground and declared it to be a pig’s nose. Their puppets were imaginative and completely inspired by Jonathan.

Thank you for the wonderful artist-in-residency program! It was an outstanding learning experience for both students and staff, and I have had great feedback from parents and teachers. The students have also been enthusiastic about the program, and I believe that this was evident during your time here.

Aesop’s Fables” was delightful, educational, fun and funny. Caravan’s show demonstrates Aesop’s age-old morals in a sweet, humorous and very kid-friendly way. Our students, aged 4-10, loved every minute of it.

We brought Caravan to PS 140 and PS 60 in the Bronx to dramatize Aesop. Teachers and their classes were engaged and delighted. Mr. Keezing is a master puppeteer who, along with an instructive show, also teaches children how to be a good audience.

On Behalf of the Administrators, Faculty, Parents and Students of P.S. 140, I wish to thank you for bringing Caravan Puppets to our school. This event provided an invaluable opportunity for students to see and experience the excitement on satisfaction of a live puppet show. There have been many positive comments and enthusiastic discussions on this puppet show since your presentation. It enhances our classroom curriculum by integrating the Arts into Literacy and other subjects.

Jonathan has exceptional creative talent along with the ability to share it with children of all ages. With the younger children, he is animated and nurturing. Jonathan is an wonderful creative talent. His shows are funny and usually contain a message sensitive to our diverse community. The message is always situated in a funny and very entertaining story. His puppets are often made out of unusual materials – they are visually arresting and capture the children s imagination. They also inspire us to make puppets and to have puppet shows.
